New Changing Rooms

In April this year the club ran a feature on our website about proposed new and extensive club facilities on the horizon. To the doubters it may have been seen as wishful thinking and a distant pie in the sky dream. I am delighted to say that the club’s future vision and aspiration in its development plan has now become very much a reality with every prospect of all the new facilities being completed by April 2019 thanks to the fantastic support of Viridor for our community inspired project. Without this support our plans for the clubhouse would not have been possible

Above is an image showing the  impressive  progress that has been made with phase 1 of our ambitious project for new team changing accommodation, all of which has been self funded.  This has been no mean achievement!

Club reserves funded all the foundations and brickwork but it needed a hugely successful “Help Raise The  Roof   For Woodhouses CC” appeal to former players and members to raise the required money to pay for the roof. I would like to thank all those who donated so generously to the cause. The club is also greatly indebted to Dave Roberts and his company for donating the roof trusses. There is still much work to be done in the next 6 months with mains sewer drains, electricity supply and all the internal fitting out but I am confident that our determination to succeed will prevail. As further progress is made details will be posted on our website.

Phase 2 of our ‘Viridor’ project  in the clubhouse will involve developing a new  room for use by the local community and club members in the space currently occupied by the changing rooms and showers. Extensive alterations and building works will be needed and these will also incorporate major changes to the bar and new toilets including a separate disabled toilet. It is planned to carry out this phase of the project early in 2019  from  the start of  January to mid March. This means that the club will be closed for business during this period but the end result will be well worth waiting for. I would also like to record my personal thanks to Duncan Prince of Simon James Executive for acting as the club’s Third Party Contributor to the award by Viridor.
